With more and more people trying to avoid traffic and get in some exercise, it is no wonder that biking is becoming more than just a hobby. As a motorist, it is your responsibility to share the road safely with these cyclists. The friendly staff at Bowman Auto Center wants our drivers to understand how to give bicyclists their due space on the road.

The first rule is to understand that cyclists have every right to be on the road. Do your part by taking the time to learn some basic hand signals that cyclists use to indicate turns and other moves on the road.

Be sure to allow plenty of space when passing a cyclist on the road. This is not the time to cut it too close. Lastly, as with every time that you get behind the wheel, you need to avoid using any type of electronics.
